About
After digging a bit deeper into snapshots, I decided to make the information available for everyone else who may be interested. I put it in the same area that I put the Search API a while back on the Wiki. The Snapshot API is pretty useful for anyone who needs to programmatically read snapshots from an email account, and pull out information regarding the location, avatar, and contents from the "Message" field.I've been able to pull out a ton of information and found ways to lookup the map tile (Map API), and link directly to the region and avatar (Search API) as well as how to put a slurl together. It appears that the Email API gives you the information to pull most of the API's together into one application. My own little experi!
ment is almost over as far as reading email. Afterwards, the next experiment is to actually post that information to my blog, as well as PING.fm. At to bottom of the Search API page, I've also included some advanced tips for taking snapshots. These cover things like sending a message to multiple people, populating the recipient email list automatically, and changing the maximum length of the message. From Dedric Mauriac via bloghud.com
